REGISTERED NPO
(Reg No 7441 349 )

Kwalata Community Development Initiative (KCDI), a registered NPO operated from the Kwalata Lodge which is situated adjacent to the community of Hammanskraal. We are actively involved in rural township communities, assisting entrepreneurs to develop and better their operations. Over the past twenty years we have facilitated and assisted International and corporate donors to commit, engage and roll out CSI development successfully and with great results. We have created a framework where donations, sponsorships and long term partnerships happen in communities.

EDUCATION

Science Expo's

"Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation.” Nelson Mandela

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Dinokasi Honey

Entrepreneurship's importance lies in the following: Drives economic growth and creates new job. Encourages innovation by bringing new ideas, products, and services to the market. Contributes to social change by developing products or services that reduce people's dependence on outdated technologies.

CONSERVATION

World Environmental

Conservation education is a crucial step towards inspiring and empowering (young) people to protect wildlife from extinction. It is also fundamental to the achievement of the goal of sustainable development. There is a great need of high-quality education materials and activities that will change behaviours in the direction of environmental protection.

THE ARTS

Dinokasi Creative Arts

Community Arts and Cultural Development involves artists working collaboratively with communities for the purpose of social change through art and culture. This provides opportunities for all people to express themselves and share their stories while developing their cultural knowledge and artistic skills.

SPORT

Sports and community development are linked on several levels that, when properly harnessed, can improve the lives of citizens and promote healthy culture. Though seemingly unrelated to community development, sports opens avenues of communication between people of all levels of society and background, and allows at-risk populations an avenue of safety.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Old Age & Frail Care

While the social sector is improving, it needs infrastructure development for human development in South Africa. This will ensure quality education for citizens, which will help improve the unemployment rate, alleviate poverty and ensure economic growth.

"WE CARE"

Mandela Day

Mandela Day is just around the corner. Which means it’s time to celebrate Madiba’s legacy … his dream of a nation working together to eradicate poverty, and uplift one another. Every time we give of our time, our gifts and even our cash to help someone else on Mandela Day, we are building our own legacy.

Making a difference

Kwalata Community Development Initiative

We are located in the Dinokeng Game Reserve, just outside Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, in the Gauteng Province and the Tshwane Municipal District. Kwalata Community Development Initiative has developed from the long term involvement in and around the Kwalata Game Lodge by its owners and staff.  Their intimate knowledge of the landowners, schools, sports facilities and communities has established a culture of mutual trust in which they work. Their commitment to the preservation of the dignity of the individual through identifying sustainable projects allow selected partners and this community to interact in a responsible manner.

KCDI promotes economic growth, skills transfer, social upliftment and facilitation with entrepreneurial projects that offer job creation via private and corporate sector investment.

Corporate South Africa can benefit from Community Social Investment projects that are identified and facilitated by the type of support or sponsorship they are offering in exchange for their investment of time, skills and/or money. KCDI continues to mentor these existing enterprises, providing expertise and experience whilst facilitating the independent growth of the project to ensure sustainability.

Allowing KCDI to facilitate an exchange of resources, channelled to achieve specified outcomes, enables  companies to recognise labour’s contribution, both past and present,  as a supplementary input of their production and having a foot in the door encourages the interaction of individuals which bridges the social divide.

KCDI quantifies the motivation of donors and ensures that they meet the needs of emerging entrepreneurs.  This in turn results in micro free market economies that touch many lives.
